It’s a cool concept, where you get to experience the differences between cured resin, live resin, and live rosin all from the same producer! (with some rare strains included as well)

Cured Resin - Lime OG

Lime OG (Cured Resin): Lime OG is an evenly balanced hybrid strain. The popular theory is that this strain is a cross between OG Kush and Lime Skunk. Currently, Exotic Genetix cultivates this strain by crossing Lime Skunk with Triple OG. 👁️ Look

I’m a fan of the look on this. It’s a great consistency to dab with and looks like a darker colored version of live resin products I’ve seen in the past.

👃 Smell

This stuff stanks! You instantly get a hit of the powerful lime aroma that can be quite polarizing between heads (I’m quite a fan!).

👅 Taste

Tastes exactly like it smells! Has a nice gassiness on the exhale.

Rating

Overall, this was a great introduction into cured resin for me. It checks the boxes for look, smell, & taste.

I’m a fan of lime terps, but if you aren’t, you may disagree with me on this one.

Live Resin - Alaskan Purple

Good looking live resin! Nice glistening orange color. Decent amount of sauce as well.

👃 Smell

Smells amazing! Unique terps that are difficult to describe. Smells almost like a creamy lavender with a hint of tropical fruit.

👅 Taste

Taste is true to the smell. I get more creaminess with the taste. Pleasant sweetness on palate during exhale.

Rating

We have unique terps from a unique strain. Look, smell, & taste are all great.

👁️ Look

The consistency is much drier than I’d typically like to see. The color is decent, if a little darker than I’ve seen from other quality rosin brands (Eastside Alchemey & The Fifth Age).

It may have been stored improperly.

👃 Smell

Good smell. Slight orange. Wasn’t overpowering and seemed lacking compared to the Lime OG & Alaskan Purple.

👅 Taste

Taste is true to smell, if a little lighter than expected. Good taste, just nothing mind blowing.

Rating

This one felt lacking. With the cursed resin & live resin before it, this one needed to knock it out of the park to keep the momentum.

Overall, the Lightsky Farms - Pot of Gold box was a mixed bag. Both the cured & live resin were gas. However, I was left a little disappointed with the live rosin.

In terms of quality, it typically goes:

Cured Resin -> Live Resin -> Live Rosin

In terms of price, each level up is typically double the cost of the one below it. For example (pricing used for illustration):

Cursed Resin ($10) -> Live Resin ($20) -> Live Rosin ($40)

Going off of this, to justify the price, the quality of live rosin compared to live resin, would have to be at least 2x better. Comparing cured resin to live resin, it would have to be 4x better.

From my review, I couldn’t justify the increase in cost for this particular live rosin product, compared to the cured resin & live resin offerings.

As 2/3 of the box was gas, I’d say the box overall was worth it.
