Gassiest of 2023 Awards - Most Underrated Flower Brand

The recreational flower market in Michigan is vast and full of hundreds of brands.

Some brands have global recognition like Cookies & Backpack Boyz. Other brands are Michigan legends like Pro Gro, Peninsula Gardens, & Hytek.

Other brands are less known. Whether for being newer to the scene or just smaller, craft growers.

This award category is to highlight some of these brands that might slip through the cracks.

Underrated Brands

Honorable Mention: Premier Cannabis Farms

Premier Cannabis Farms (517) are one of my favorite craft growers recently.

They have revitalized my love for OG, with their Spartan OG & Private Reserve OG.

I have heard amazing things about their 517 Headband, but was never able to lock any down in my area.

I mostly find their product at House of Dank & Butter dispensaries.

The only thing really holding them back in this category is their lack of variety in strains. I’ve tried the whole lineup of jars and just want to see more.

I know they have both Sudz & Coconut Gelato available deli style, but once again, it’s always sold out by the time I get to it.

Who knows, maybe Premier Cannabis Farms would be ranked higher if they weren’t so popular in my area 😂.

Either way, I want to get some of that Headband as well as any other new deli style strains I can find.

I’ll be keeping a close eye on these guys in 2024!

3rd Place: Mitten Canna Co.

There really isn’t much online about Mitten Canna Co..

They don’t have a website. They do have an out-of-date Instagram page…

But what I do know, is that they produce some 🔥 flower.

Whether it’s pre-pack or deli, Mitten Canna Co. delivers frosty, delicious nugs.

If you catch something with Runtz in the strain name from them, grab it!

I have yet to be disappointed by any of their Runtz crosses to date.

Their Hash Plant is coated in crystals and dripping with keif. Like you’d expect, it tastes like straight keif.

And their GMO pays stanky homege to the classic strain.

I’ve only really seen Mitten Canna Co. product at King of Budz & Puff dispensaries, but I pick it up when I see it.

2nd Place: Growing Pains

The Growing Pains is almost the definition of an underrated brand.

They are linked to the Refinery in Detroit and have ties to Hytek as well, but grow their own style of delicious flower.

Seeming to prefer delivering quality outside of the spotlight.

I first found them trying their Zyrup and fell in love with the syrupy, candy flavor.

I’ve since tried their Vitamin Z, Bolo Runtz, Orange Crush, & Burnout OG and they don’t miss.

Growing Pains always delivers in terms of flavor.

They have a lot of new strains coming down their lineup for next year and I’m stoked to see what they bring!

1st Place: BowHouse

Out of all the brands on this list, only one of them has never missed!

BowHouse seemingly came out of nowhere last year (at least for me) and delivered constent ⛽.

Whether it was their Pink Runtz, Popz 41, Emmitt Smith, Barbie Runtz, The Count, or their Platinum Lemon Cherry Gelato it was bound to be delicious.

Available in both pre-pack AND deli style, you’ll find something that matches your style.

I mostly find BowHouse product at Quality Roots & Puff dispensaries.

It’s safe to say, I’ll be loading up on BowHouse flower in 2024.

Looking forward to what strains they add to their repertoire.
