Review (x2): Pine Park x DogHouse Farms - Gratiot Gold & Sourdough
By Gas & Middies
Today we review a special collaboration between Pine Park & DogHouse Farms, who released two new strains: Sourdough & Gratiot Gold.
Purchased at King of Budz for $35 each.
They actually did a Meet & Greet on July 15th & 16th in Grand Rapids & Ferndale to promote the collaboration.
You’ll see some of the promotional images for that in the article.

Welcome to Pine Park,
the place where it all began.
A lot of people know me as a digital content pioneer, an entrepreneur or as the founder and CEO of one of the most successful esports franchises in history, OpTic Gaming. Cannabis has been a central part of my life, and throughout my endeavors I’ve built an incredible community that I’m excited to bring along for this next journey.
Pine Park refers to the place in Chicago I used to sneak out to when I was a teenager and smoke weed. Now that cannabis is legalizing nationally and consumption is becoming normalized, I’m thrilled to be pursuing a lifelong dream of working with cannabis and to have the opportunity to educate myself and my community on how to responsibly be a part of and grow this industry. - Pine Park - Story
Erick Khan
As these strains were “small batch selected by Erick Khan”, some may wonder who that is and what is his relation to Pine Park.
He is a YouTuber famous for his cannabis blogs. For what he describes on his About Page:
Smokin’ and recording it.
According to Wikitubia he got his start recording himself doing acid and has since moved on to specializing in cannabis culture.
He is not mentioned anywhere in the Press Release announcement about the brand.
In fact, he is the inaugural guest on Pine Park’s YouTube Channel’s first episode and appears to have joined the brand since then.
He know hosts his own segment for the channel called Pine Park After Dark.

👁️ Look
- Big, dense nugs.
- Breaks down into angel feathers.
👃 Smell
- Smells like grapefruit.
👅 Taste
- Grapefruit terps on inhale.
- Sour earthy exhale.
- Taste fades.
Rating
I’m a big fan of grapefruit terps.
This one hinted at it with the smell but came in a little light in terms of taste.
The little taste that was there, dwindled over time.
Out of the two of these, this one had the best nose of the bunch.
Overall, not a bad smoke, but:

This one was a looker!
Much better bud structure with more trichomes than the Gratiot Gold.
The taste caught me by surprise. It was very light and creamy with a sour/sweet taste.
Not too sweet, much like the bread it was named after.
Pleasant taste all around but it did fade a little over time.
Unique terps gave this one the pass as:
Gas ⛽
Outro
I didn’t anything about Pine Park going into this… and I still don’t know too much.
However, I was shown once again that DogHouse Farms produces some beautiful flower, no matter who they co-sign.
This was a mixed bag for me. Both strains were nice, but out of the two, I’d only recommend one.
We’ll see if there is more to come with Pine Park and DogHouse in the future.
Anyone else get to try these or even meet them at the Meet & Greets?
Which was your favorite?
