Today we review a Cannabis Cup winning strain from a no-till brand: Hypha.
The strain is Tropical Runtz.
Hypha
Outside of Instagram, Hypha’s pressence on the internet is slim pickings. However, their Instagram page is AWESOME!
It is full of pictures and tips about growing in their style and is quite extensive.
They appear to be much more educational compared to being promotional based, like many Instagram accounts.

Tropical Runtz
Hypha’s Tropical Runtz won the Adult Use (AU) Sativa Flower category in the High Times Cannabis Cup Michigan 2022.
The story is that shortly after winning the cup, Hypha lost their whole grow of Tropical Runtz.
I’ve heard rumors of a power outage as well as mites as the cause.
This story & tragedy actually adds to the hype of this strain to me.
Where to Get?
Hypha is an exclusive brand to Nature’s Remedy in Ferndale.
I don’t know anywhere else that carries their product. So if you want to try this, you have to make the trek to Ferndale.
All of their Hypha flower comes semi deli style, meaning it’s not prepacked. However, it isn’t traditional ‘deli style’.
The flower is stored in large metallic containers in the back, where their budtends pack your order from. You never get to see the flower like traditional deli style.
However, they have brought out the metallic jars for me to inspect some new strains, so they may accomodate you, if you ask.

🍊🍊🍊
If you like tropical/orange/citrus terps, this is the one!
The nugs are solid, but where this really shines is in the smell & taste.
At first sniff you get surrounded by citrus. All you can really hope for is the taste to match up.
And in this case, it does! The taste exposes a dank gassiness that isn’t revealed in the sniff test. But it is a welcome addition.
This strain has clout winning the Cannabis Cup last year. AND it has an epic backstory, that enhanced the hype for this batch.
As I’ve had the first batch, this one had grand expectations… and I think it met them.
At this point, I’ve tried 90% of Hypha’s strains and this is unquestionably the best.
The price is a bit steep ($45/eighth), but the terps are worth trying at least once.

Outro
I’m hoping Hypha expands out to some more areas so more of you guys can check it out.
Exclusivity is a cool concept, but can keep some possible customers from trying your product, when this is based on one physical location.
Wnat do you guys think?
Anyone get to try the first batch before the grow issue?
