Rare Michigan Genetics started in 2010 in the “middle of nowhere” Michigan.
They (like most other culivators in Michigan) have many propietary strains:
The first step was taking many of Michigan’s highest testing genetics and breeding them. Not once or twice, but multiple times. This process, over time has allowed us to create a large library of proprietary strains
In short, this just means they bred a bunch of strains together and gave those crosses names.
They do have some cool names though, like the Willy Wonka inspired Snozzberry.
I do like that they have a lot of information on their grow process on their website.
Here are some cool bits:
Our plants begin life in a first class facility. We had two goals in mind during construction: plant health and facility efficiency. Healthy plants are achieved with the use of a fully automated fertigation machine and a proprietary building controller enables us to monitor all equipment for efficiency and proper function.
All plants receive our custom coco coir medium and proprietary nutrients from day one. Once they reach the proper size they move from the nursery to the vegetative growth room. There they will enjoy warm sunny days regardless of Michigan’s harsh climate ( unless the power goes out haha – thankfully we have a generator). After growing to their flowering height the plants are moved to a flower room.
Just like the vegetative room, flower rooms are completely automated. The rooms are sealed and sterile to allow the flowering plant to have a perfect environment throughout the flowering process. A plant can lose quality rapidly if these conditions are not kept in the proper specifications.

It feels blasphemous to say this, but this didn’t turn me into a believer.
This is the definition of a Catfish bud.
A term I stole from MTV’s popular show where people pose as other people online to ‘catfish’ them into thinking they are someone they are not.
This bud looks the part, smells the part, but then when I go to smoke it, I’m left feeling betrayed and disappointed.
I wanted to taste that amazing lemon smell. I wanted those beautiful colors on the nugs to mean something.
Instead I got ’essence of’ lemon and a bad aftertaste…
Jesus didn’t die for:
Middies 🥱
Outro
Overall, this was a letdown.
This is one of the major reasons I created this website, to weed (pun intended) out all of the middies from the actual gas.
There are lots of dopplegangers out there, looking like good flower, but sadly you have to taste it to confirm.
What do you guys think?
Heaven sent or hell bent?
Stay 😶🌫️
