Checking out some of their Black Nitwitz deli-style!
Purchased at King of Budz for $25.
In addition to the review, we have a special interview with Ghostbudsters Farm about the history of the brand, top strains, and some of the latest moves they’re making.
Don’t miss that below.
Ghostbudsters Farm
Ghostbudsters Farm is no stranger to this site!
I’ve reveiwed their Mystery Cut #2 flower.
As well as their collabo with Ice Kream Hash Co. for the Neapolitan infused donut.
Check them out on their website (coming soon!) & Instagram page.
Being a big supporter of the site, since the original Zalympix Michigan 2023 articles, I wanted to get them on the site for an interview.
They happily obliged:
Interview
Gas & Middies: Welcome! Can you start by telling us a little about yourself?
Ghostbudsters Farm: My name is Chris, have been cultivating for roughly 10 years. Our company is Ghostbudsters Farm, owned and operated by myself and some legacy partners. Also an owner of Covert Cups.
Gas & Middies: What makes you guys different?
Ghostbudsters Farm: Honestly, I think what makes us different is coming from the trap/legacy market and knowing what it takes. Not just the love for the plant, but myself and all of my partners have had our doors kicked in, and raided by the police, and robbed. And started back up. For me it’s not about the money or the clout. I have two kids and with my partners as well. I love this plant and love to make a difference if I can.
Gas & Middies: How long have you been in the industry? Were you on the legacy side?
Ghostbudsters Farm: In the cultivation space roughy 10 years.
Gas & Middies: How did you come up with the brand name/logo?
Ghostbudsters Farm: Funny enough, my partner Brandon and I where in our caregiver grow and we had just won our first HTCC (High Times Cannabis Cup) and we didn’t have a name or a brand. So we were defoliating, I had just watched the movie Ghostbusters the night before. My phone rang and I told my partner to remind me to call Josh back. He turned around and said, “who you going to call.” And I said “Ghostbudsters” when I meant to say Ghostbusters. And that’s how the name became.
Gas & Middies: Any details about your grow?
Ghostbudsters Farm: The cultivation is location in Pinconning, Michigan. It’s 10k square feet with roughly 200 flowering lights (Two 100 light flowering rooms) and just under 100 Veg lights. We do both popping seeds and clones. Currently we have actually did some pollen chucking of Halle Berry to Black Nitwitz (Going to do try and get a sesh together at Hot Box Social for a bunch of people to come and get a chance to personally name the strain. Thoughts on that idea?)
Gas & Middies: Do you target taste when picking strains?
Ghostbudsters Farm: Honestly I have gone more on the trust of friends/breeders that swear it’s fire and hits all boxes. Those boxes are Terps, yields, hydro carbon return, & rosin return. Everything we grow we like to also be able to wash. It’s not all about yield and THC %.
Gas & Middies: What are your top selling strains?
Ghostbudsters Farm: Currently I would have to say on this menu we have is: Halle Berry, Black Nitwitiz, Cap Junky, RS11, Kush Mints and Sherbanger22.
Gas & Middies: Would you say you have a signature/trademark strain?
Ghostbudsters Farm: I would say currently Halle Berry. That’s my girl.
Gas & Middies: Being more of a craft grower, how do you go about marketing your brand?
Ghostbudsters Farm: I know our brand isn’t for everyone or some might not agree with things we do. Thats why we went with the double wall UV glass jars with the pressure seal tops. We just market what we do. Local farmers in the growing business. Everyone is born and raised in the mitten and came up from the legacy side.
Gas & Middies: How did you come up with the Neapolitan idea with Ice Kream Hash Co.?
Ghostbudsters Farm: Honestly I didn’t come up with the Neapolitan idea. Nick and Kendra from Ice Kream Hash Co came up with an idea to use the three different skus we were doing together and make them in three different pairings.
Gas & Middies: You are a well known, vocal figure on Reddit in the /r/Michigents community. How do you feel about Reddit presence as a brand?
Ghostbudsters Farm: I think the brand is well received on Reddit but I think it helps that being one owners and vocal if someone has a issue with the product I’m always down to refund or exchange. If it’s our fault or not. Everyone works hard for their money.
Gas & Middies: Why did you go with jars in an industry full of mylars?
Ghostbudsters Farm: We hand trim everything, I feel that using a mylar crushes the cannabis and rounds it. Which can be mid handled in either storage, shipping or at the retail. Also it’s a double wall UV glass jar so it there is no light degradation. Now we are also adding pressure seals to make sure everything is air tight and keeps the product air tight. We also have a tamper seal on the jar with a CR top.
Gas & Middies: How do you decide which dispensaries carry your products?
Ghostbudsters Farm: While picking our retail partners it’s important for me to actually go into the store and meet the staff and owners. We have some amazing retail partners that really support us and have amazing training with their staff. I would rather have it if someone had a question about a strain or wanted to know when the next drop is that budtender either has my personal number or has access to get it to answer those questions.
Gas & Middies: Winning at both the High Times Cannabis Cup as well as Zalympix, do you prefer the style of one versus the other?
Ghostbudsters Farm: They both are great events, but this last Zalympix was amazing. The Exotic Matter homies did a great job putting it together and I think just having the open consumption concept really is amazing. I wish we could get an event do be an awards chosen by the people along with an open consumption with on site sales. With not retail mark up just a straight farmer to table.
Gas & Middies: What made you enter Halle Berry into the Zalympix this year?
Ghostbudsters Farm: I felt everyone was entering a Runtz cross or a Sherb of some sort. I just wanted to be different and not go off hype. Just go off what I was proud of and might not of been for everyone.
Gas & Middies: Any plans on entering the Zalympix next year?
Ghostbudsters Farm: Of course as long as I make the cut in the smoke sesh to see who is invited to be part of it. There are some amazing growers out in Metrc that people are sleeping on big time.
Gas & Middies: I’ve personally received free product from you at dispensaries, seen you off refunds/replacements to unsatisfied customers, etc. Why is that so rare in this industry? Ghostbudsters Farm: I don’t know, we stand by our product 100%. I think this should be industry standard. I even will go beyond that and meet up people personally if they can’t make it to a store and drop it off at their work after I get it pennied out from a store. Money comes and goes on thing you can’t get back is time so I respect everyone’s.
Gas & Middies: I see you out there doing big things out of state on Instagram! Any sneak peaks into that?
Ghostbudsters Farm: Yeah currently I’m working with a grow out in DC that is vertical with a 30k square foot cultivation and processing with a retail. It started out just bringing Covert Cups to DC, but now I’m helping them and partnered to design/build and be a partner.
Gas & Middies: Biggest misconception in the industry?
Ghostbudsters Farm: That THC means anything… Some of the best flower I have ever smoked in my life was 16% THC and 4.3% Terps.
Gas & Middies: One thing you’d like to see changed in the industry?
Ghostbudsters Farm: I would personally like to see it for the caregivers to be able to sell to licensed retail shops again. And the medical market to make a come back.
Gas & Middies: Any drops to look out for in the future?
Ghostbudsters Farm: We have a few new strains we are popping from Mitten Master and Mobil Jay I’m stoked about and some pollen chucking we did personally ourselves.
Gas & Middies: Thanks for doing the interview. Any final words?
Ghostbudsters Farm: Thank you so much for the time and what you are doing for the community! Also I want to see what we can do to give back to the community and any thoughts to make this community even stronger! Would love to have you out to the grow! Cheers🫡

Get hit with the Nitwitz!
Beautiful flower. Dark like the name suggests and blinged out with eye-catching trichomes.
Having had Fire as Fuck in the past, I was expecting some gasoline to the nostrils… but I got candy.
Not your typical Runtz candy either. It reminded me of a pack of Smarties, fresh out of the plastic.
You get those candy notes on the inhale, but it morphs into a more licorice tasting treat on the exhale.
The flavors play with your expectations.
With a smell that is true to taste, this one brings the total package.
You’d have to be a nitwit (no offense) to think this isn’t:
Gas ⛽
Outro
I’m all about unique terps and Black Nitwitz brings that to the table.
We’re all used to candy flavors in our flower at this point, but these are new flavors!
I want to have a special shout out to Ghostbudsters Farm for following the site and doing the interview!
Looking forward to big things from the brand in the future!
What do you guys think?
