Premier Cannabis Farms

Premier Cannabis Farms is a craft grow, just outside of the Lansing/East Lansing area.

I’ve reviewed their Spartan OG #6 before. Interestingly, Private Reserve OG appears to be a parent in the genetics of Spartan OG!

I linked up with Premier Cannabis Farms on Instagram and did a little interview to learn more about them.

Gas & Middies: Welcome! Can you give a quick introduction on Premier Cannabis Farms?
Premier Cannabis Farms: What’s up Gas and Middies, thanks for the opportunity to educate some people on our products and company. Premier Cannabis Farms is a pretty small farm. We run 65 flower lights and have 6 full time employees, 2 are owners. We’re located in Potterville, MI right outside Lansing.

Gas & Middies: What makes you guys different?
Premier Cannabis Farms: We think we’re different because we still grow the old school way we always have grown. We didn’t cut any corners for profit. We’re an artisan company which means we do everything by hand, water, trim, pack etc. We still use DH lights ( double ended ) also use Mills bio organic nutrients and a peat based soilless medium. Also we don’t have any big time investors behind us. We’re just 3 normal people trying to make it in a crazy industry flooded with investors and celebrity cannabis.

Gas & Middies: Would you consider yourself a “craft” grower?
Premier Cannabis Farms: Sure I guess. We’re really small and take attention to detail pretty serious, to try and bring people the best product we can.

Gas & Middies: Any details on your grow?
Premier Cannabis Farms: As stated above, we’re artisan grown. We do a lot of pheno searching in house as far as breeding. To try and bring different products to the market flooded with the same flavors.

Gas & Middies: I notice 517 in a lot of your strain names. What’s your connection to East Lansing?
Premier Cannabis Farms: We’re from Lansing so EL is our neighbors. We love MSU. My family went there and my partner did also. So we rep our area pretty hard.

Gas & Middies: What would you consider your trademark/signature strain?
Premier Cannabis Farms: I’d say 517HEADBAND and TRIKS those were our staples in the CG medical days.

Gas & Middies: Top selling strain/fan favorite?
Premier Cannabis Farms: Top seller definitely Rainbow Runtz. With Private Reserve right there too. People are wanting real OG gas again ( thank God lol )

Gas & Middies: Any details into the genetics of Private Reserve OG?
Premier Cannabis Farms: Private Reserve OG is a OG cross from Reserva Privada that is a clone only pheno we received along time ago from friends out west. She special.

Gas & Middies: Your website says your genetics are in-house, how do you go about selecting what you grow?
Premier Cannabis Farms: We pop seeds every now and then to see what we can find to bring to market. This process takes a long time, but we love to look for new exclusive flavors for the people to enjoy. We also do in house breeding on a very small scale.

Gas & Middies: With most brands sticking with mylar, what made you guys go with jars?
Premier Cannabis Farms: We went with jars because there too much plastic in the world already. Also we believe it preserves the product best and don’t crush it, but a lot of shops do not like the jar’s because they set up displays for Mylar, but we won’t break down and go to Mylar.

Gas & Middies: I’ve personally only had your flower products, do you have any/plan to have any concentrates in the future?
Premier Cannabis Farms: Yes we’ve done a few collabs with processors for rosin and BHO. We just did a collab with Northcoast on some Spartan OG rosin, so be in the look out for that.

Gas & Middies: What’s been your biggest challenge in today’s market?
Premier Cannabis Farms: Man so many challenges smh, but the biggest is probably dealing with some of these purchasing managers smh. All they ask is how high is the THC and how cheap are you gonna sell it to me LOL. The lack of education on product and companies is mind blowing and frustrating at times. But we do have some really smart and educated PMs in the market and that’s who we like to work with.

Gas & Middies: I love the art on your flower jars! Do you have a go-to person to create those?
Premier Cannabis Farms: Thanks. Yes we use Premium Design Co. out of NY. They been good to us.

Gas & Middies: Do you feel like Instagram is the best place to advertise/promote in this industry?
Premier Cannabis Farms: Yes we like IG. We do all marketing in house. Which is why we don’t market very well lol but IG definitely let’s us get close to our customers and educate them on our products.

Gas & Middies: Any drops to look out for?
Premier Cannabis Farms: Yes. 517HEADBAND just dropped and it’s crazy ⛽️. Also we will be dropping 3 new strains next batch in December. Coconut Gelato Jealousy Bx1, Z Lemonade, which is a Berner x Bodhi collaboration, & Zkittles x Lavender Lemonade that taste insane. So be on the look out for those and more in the near future.

• Breaks down into angel feathers.

• Creamy, sweet, earthy inhale.

Rating

Premier Cananbis Farms are OGs of growing OG strains.

To me, they make the prototype.

Big nugs, that are the perfect amount of squishy. Trichome coated. With the familiar sweet scent with a hint of lemon.

From the first hit, I see where Spartan OG got it’s swag from. But Private Reserve OG is different…

I’d sum up the taste as an herbal cream soda. It’s smooth, it’s creamy. It satisfies your sweet tooth and isn’t a Runtz cross.

Premier Cannabis Farms to me is what we have been looking for in a grower.

They’re a small craft/artisan grow. They do everything by hand. They grow both old school & new school strains. And they package it all up in a nice jar.

I personally want to support brands that do this and shine a little light on them when I can.
